I don't think Arnold needs to be concerned. He must have considered the likelihood that that would happen. On the other hand, Bustamante's uttering of the N word seems to have gone down the memory hole. But there are some black folks who remember.

Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante Calls Blacks "Niggers" In Black History Speech

Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante, a Hispanic Democrat who has focused on improving race relations, said he meant to use the word “Negro” but slipped and said the word “nigger” during his speech about the black union movement in what he called an embarrassing slip of the tongue.
About one-fourth of the 400 people at the event Friday left in protest.
Bustamante said he has tried repeatedly to apologize.
“I know it came out of my mouth, but it is not how I was taught. It is not how I teach my children,” he said.

I tried not to laugh as I read this.

"Lou Rawls" is a term we use here at Eightball to illustrate a feeling that no other word in the English language can as accurately describe. When you have "Lou" or when you give someone "Lou" essentially you are book marking that moment in their lives when for the rest of their lives when they will look back on that particular moment, no matter how much time passes the embarrassment they feel will be just as strong as the day it originally happened.

Lou is embarrassment that you can never shake off. Lou Rawls is immune to maturity or time. When you've got Lou "You Got Lou" or someone gives you "Lou" it is for keeps.

For Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante this is one of those times.

You've got Lou Mr. Bustamante
