Reread nadines post and see it in context. Jews are far from perfect. We are human. She is talking about leons obvious double standard for tibet and israel. You can bet that most nations after 5 wars would have annexed the land in question. Israel was willing to essentially give it all up in 2000. Whether the deal was perfect or not, it was not a reason to start a war which is what arafat did with I2. Being a jew it is as frustrating for me to understand the thought process of one who does not see this just as an american it is frustrating for me to understand those who cannot understand Americas reaction to 9/11.
Hell, Israel could physically destroy the terrorist thru the use of overwhelming force and the US could have nuked bin laden and killed terrorists elsewhere without regard to civilian casualtier. But both countries trying to stay within moral limits chose rightly. How many other countries would. Certainly the PLA, Hamas et al and al quaida wouldnt. mike

The Jews of Israel who would like to "clear out the land" have been hampered by international scrutiny, and by the fact that they don't want to lose American aid

If that was all that was hampering them, they would have cleared out the land already. The fact that is really hampering them is that they are a small minority of the population in a democratic society. So the real question is, why are they a small minority instead of an overwhelming majority, as they would be in another country in Israel's situation?
