Mike, we went into Iraq without the world's support. You surely can't expect them to now come rescue us. Forget about euro/japanese parliaments helping in Iraq. If you wait for them, Iraq is as good as lost. And the argument that we can't afford it is only good for those that can't count: If we can afford a $500 billion a year deficit, we surely can afford $20 billion in reconstruction aid for Iraq. Kyros PS. I agree we can't afford it, but when you have maxed out 99 of your 100 credit cards, maxing out the last one is not going to hurt you much.
