Which part do you dispute? That the US is commonly referred to as a "democracy". Ever hear of the "the Western democracies"? That a pure democracy would have each individual citizen vote on measures? That that can only work for small groups? That a pure democracy couldn't have an agreed-upon constitution limiting the power of the majority? That in republics the people elect representatives to vote on measures in their behalf?
