From Briefing.com: The outlook is improving.

For two months, Briefing.com has stressed a cautious stance. This was highlighted in two recent Big Picture Stock Briefs - Time to Play Defense with Covered Calls? and August Angst.

In fact, the S&P 500 has stayed in a range of about 960 to 1010 over the past ten weeks. Yet, the fundamentals have improved, raising the prospect of a fourth quarter rally.

The economic data have been stronger than expected. Second quarter operating earnings were surprisingly strong, up about 9% for the S&P 500 stocks. On August 12, the Fed stated they would maintain an accomodative policy for an extended period.

It doesn't get much better than this. Valuation is high, but not bad considering still low interest rates and likely strong earnings growth.
