I see. The NIE is the most authoritative security assessment available, but key White House officials like Rice and the President already "know" everything and do not need to bother to read it. What a load of crap. They did not know about the tubes controversy -- or they lied -- and they did not know about the Niger controversy -- or they lied. And they said nothing when Rumsfeld and Cheney made outlandish claims about WMD -- but they knew exactly what was going on. Sorry neocon, take your pick -- liars or incompetence.
