No, I told them 'big end down' and 'green side up'.

That's how you set poles and lay sod respectively. ( Green side up may be important after you've installed major underground lines through a developed area. Lawns can be cheaper than roads to repair. )

I was an 'outside plant engineer' for a large utility company before I went into programming.

'Engineered' a lot more poles and FABC than sod.
