Since Buffett is someone who doesn't care if the markets are open or not, why would he ever be concerned about playing "tops" and "bottoms".

WEB makes cash so he can buy good stuff when it's cheap. He is refreshingly disconnected from the market gyrations most of the time, except when a sector like energy and pipelines became so cheap that he could play vulture and snap up some choice morsels.

As time goes on, BRK's stock holdings will become less and less important. BRK is becoming a very successful operating conglomerate.
