9/11 hit our economy for hundreds of billions in immediate real costs. The aftermath cost many hundreds of billions more. Perhaps we should have done nothing as you & scott seem to imply as the appropriate course of action. That way the next terrorist attack we'd have the $100 billion we didn't spend in Iraq to offset the trillion or so in real costs to our economy. And since you will insist on doing nothing, we'll save another $100 billion for the the next trillion dollar terrorist attack..... and the next one.... and the next one.....
