Several things John. First, I don't believe I post ONLY "conservative, rightist stuff" from decidedly conservative magazines. If I do, please remind me if I didn't already mention it when I post whatever it is. At least I give enough respect for your thoughts and position to actually read what you post, or what you would like us to know about. I don't know if the same courtesy is always reciprocated.

2nd.....I think there is MUCH that we need to know about what is going on (or not going on) as far as the FBI is concerned. Truly, it shouldn't be a partisan political inquiry....the very safety of our Country is at stake. I hearken back to former CIA Director James Woolsey's non-ability in getting an appointment with Clinton for 6 months!!!! If Freeh had the same problem, maybe we should know.......I too am VERY concerned about both Janet Reno's and Freeh's Departments during their tenure, and how many people from that time stayed on to the present time. What did and did not happen???

and 3rd....Here's something both parties can and should be paying attention to......Patriot Act II...if both the conservative groups...Michael Reagan, Eagle Forum, etc........and ACLU and other civil liberties groups are united in their concerns....then perhaps we can ALL stop playing the political card, and actually accomplish what we need to accomplish, without stepping "all over our Constitution."

If you mean by that point that the story must be wrong because of that, then I don't see the point of much of your postings of conservative, rightist stuff. As for the issue of who is in control, Marshall is very careful about that one. He notes the past but the issues he addresses are one's that needed addressing in the light of the 9-11, or at least were/are much more pressing. I happen, also, to agree with the argument about Louis Frey's having made a deal with the Reps during the 90s. That was well known and widely written about.

It's an unobjectionable piece that needs to be written. Sometimes the Republicans are wrong, Karen. This is one of those times
