I saw where you thought you had answered the question, but clearly you did not.

Perhaps you could provide a link.

I believe it is a reflection that people feel no safer from terrorism today than right after 9/11. The fact that we are no pursuing Al Qaeda as our top priority, and instead being bogged in a quagmire in Iraq, has people wondering what happened to bin Ladin and AQ. They've had plenty of time to rest and reload.

And Bush using the war as a means of bolstering his election (and hiding the economic meltdown) has further made people jittery. In fact, it is no surprise that people reacted that way.

Are we safer than before? The people don't seem to think so.

Kaliico,

Re: . There are folks on chat boards across the country still saying it was terror and it has been covered up by the government for "our"protection. How sick is that?

Very sick, but also a very good indicator that the public has a lot of distrust of government. I was taken aback by some of the callers on C-SPAN's Washington Journal this morning who were definitely concocting conspiracy theories.

One of the more intriguing callers was from Michigan. He said that just prior to the blackout, he witnessed a very large unmarked jet flying at a very low altitude toward some major transmission lines being followed by two blue helicopters that were not typical to those flown commercially by the news media in the area.

He did not speculate on what this was all about.

A good thing to try to discover on the chat boards is to find other eye witnesses to this odd occurrence. If that can be corroborated, then the next thing would be to get independent investigators to follow the flight path of the jet as it crossed the power transmission lines. An examination of the lines might yield some evidence. Evidence of what you ask?

Evidence of a metallic streamer-like material which the Department of Death keeps in inventory in order to disable power grids by shorting the main transmission lines and causing instantaneous cascading outages on the grid. This was done in Iraq in 1991. It was also done, TTBOMK, in Serbia. We absolutely have the technology.

Of course, if the helos were the clean-up crew, we'd never find anything, now would we?

But that's just blatant speculation. <g>

What isn't speculation is the record. What I've seen of the record so far today does not put George Bush into a good light. Here's a couple of the better articles I've run across:
