You complain about the budget deficit, but imagine what it would be if every wacky and not so wacky ideas that some wacky or not so wacky scientists come up with?

And every day, something happens, and there is always someone who says: "I told you so".

But every day, there are million other things that don't happen, and the million of the proponents on spending on dangers that don't materialize don't seek cameras to say: "I was wrong".

Joe, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that the NE grid is not all that strong. There have been big and small blackouts in the system since the 70s. Its not the first time I have heard that there is enough energy but the system itself can fail because of antiquated transmission lines. That's why in 2001 Congress proposed a $350 billion upgrade in the transmission lines.

I would rather spend $350 billion in the USA than $500-600 billion in Iraq. But hey, if you like being inconvenienced, then its your problem to live with......blackouts rarely happen out West. Maybe we can cure the blackout problem in Iraq instead.
