Its not a matter of just any resolution. Heck even America ignores the U.N. because the U.N. ignores the U.N. But the problem is, Iraq at one time actually had WMDs. Iraq also had a clear requirement to disarm and prove its disarmament because, unlike the other countries (including Israel), it was a proven threat to the lives of innocent people everywhere.

Perspective is always the key. Palestinians take the perspective that Israel is a threat to Palestinians.
Israel takes the reverse perspective.
Instead of invading Iraq the US should have surrounded both sides of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict and threatened to invade both of them unless they both quit acting like idiots.
