BTW, I ended up walking almost 70 blocks to get home from work yesterday, and I was one of the lucky ones. There were people that were stranded or had to walk more.

This morning, I went to work on Rollerblades (see my picture here: siliconinvestor.com;

You work and live in Queens? You must have been a sight for sore eyes on your roller blades. <g>

I am glad that there was no muggings or criminal bs in NYC during the blackout. However, the networks over focus on NYC got to be a little much. You would hardly know that Syracuse, Hartford, Albany, Toronto, Ottawa, Chicago, Detroit etc also had some or all of their power disrupted as well.

One thing that blew me away was the lines for the ferries to Staten Island. They must have been miles long and the ferries looked to have a smaller carrying capacity than the ones we have here. I felt really sorry for those people.......it must have been well past midnight before they all got home.
