The interest in small cap/med-cap stocks is not surprising. They typically move in anticipation of an economic recovery and experience on average a large percentage gain. The theory is that they are more nimble given their niche markets and given their lower revenue base their sales can easily grow exponentially.

It all hinges on an economic recovery though. I still only see a slow recovery at best right now. I don't think we are going back to exponent growth overall for many years. The demand side is getting harder to drive. There is no overall driving force like Y2K to drive economic activity. The wireless revolution is over in the Western economies and the third world economies though large are not as large as the western economies in absolute values.
