No, WPS is WPS Office (stands for Word Power System?), written by a Chinese software company ever since computer introduced in China. and here is their web site (in Chinese).

wps.com.cn

It is a very old Chinese word system, but only support DOS for a long time, and that is why MS office gets an upperhand after Window system becomes popular. And a couple of years ago, WPS puts out the version support Windown95 or later OS, so it wins the popularity back in China. And now with the Gov. support, Microsoft office will not make much money in China any more. Because most money they made in China is through the gov., where no one uses illegal copies of software, individuals most likely buy some piracy copy on the street for their personal computer, which MS cannot get commission out of it<g>. A lot of people in China assemble their own PC.
