If you think that it is a racist thing to believe in the effectiveness of using only one language, you are very far out.

Racism means discriminating based on genes. First, there are no language genes, and second, there is nothing discriminating in Carl's statements. If that would be discriminating, then you could argue that all companies that require their employees to write something in a specific language, or all people who deny to read your Spanish posts just because they never learned Spanish are discriminating.

It would be discriminating, if Carl would require people to go to English language schools, all shops to use English language etc., but that is not the debate here since you asked about an official language, and Carl only replied to your post.
