Amy, is it possible that Prop 13 is working in some way to do exactly what should occur in the normal, capitalistic, evolutionary development of our country....in other words, will it drive out people and businesses from crowded areas which are imploding on themselves and their infrastructures, thereby wrecking quality-of-life for all the residents, and gradually force new development and new evolution in less-developed, more affordable areas?

Many years ago, I jokingly asked a colleague if we might one day stop seeing signs around the country which say WELCOME TO (NAME OF TOWN), and start seeing signs which say GO AWAY, NO MORE ROOM, FIND YOUR OWN SPACE SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I don't think the answer is to drive up taxes for long-time residents who already paid their dues for the sake of the town and effectively kick them out in favor of letting new folks come in a cheaper prices.

.....Get rid of prop 13, real estate investors will leave....

Nonsense it takes investors to produce units. You envision every home to be custom built?
If you want to reduce pricing that hurts labor you should be looking at worker comp and mandated time off.
