I am sure you know this, but for others: So long as we have conservatists making it extremely difficult to build generating capacity, particularly nuclear which is among the most reliable, we are stuck with ever growing and longer power grids as we attempt to ration power around the country from those with excess to those with growing needs. The more this becomes necessary, the more exposure we have to power failures of an increasingly more complex and serious nature. There are advantages and disadvantages of both centralized and regional power. Catrostrophic power failure is a disadvantage of the present system. We can make it the best we can but we ALWAYS will have the risk. jdn
