There was actually a really good article on that a while back- about a Mullah who was out helping the harvest in his town, even though the religion is against opium. He said he had to help the people in his town, who were in dire need. So obviously some of the profits go to the farmers. Unfortunately the middle men get most of the money- but they wouldn't if we made it legal.

We out to be trying to buy the drugs, and sell them legally in this country, and take the profit out of the hands of criminals. More money to the farmers of Afghanistan, safer drugs for addicts in this country, no profits for criminals.
