Sure enough Henry. From the previous report, there were 84 deaths in Taiwan of 671 cases with 504 recovered, leaving about 90 still sick on 7 July. Now there are 180 deaths total in Taiwan, with 665 total cases and 475 recovered, leaving 10 sick [a week ago].

But wait. 180:665 is 27%. That can't be right. Or, if it is right, they might be in very big trouble next winter and lots of property will be vacant.

Maybe it's really 80 and not 180. Nobody has picked up the typo. 80:665 = 12%, which is more in keeping with wider experience. who.int
