Good article in September Active Trader magazine on using Junk bond funds for gains and as proxy for cash. By Gary Smith, not the Street.com Gary Smith.

Funds were strongly trending & low volitility, also had great dividends.

REITs were like that for a while.

I think the Royalty trusts fit the same category the junk bond funds did, with a littel more volitity.

I think this may fit some of the strategies on many on this thread...
