Looks like a silly response to me from the Bush people, on the level of his education effort. Come up with standards and then walk away from the problem. What to do with the electrical grids is a serious issue which requires more study than this nonsense. Two big problems I can see. First, companies will do anything and everything possible to avoid being the culprits in this latest blackout, else they become the target of suits. That makes serious investigation hard. And, second, the hyper ideological and hyper politicized approach to solutions buries the problems. We are going to hear people pushing for market based solutions well before we know what the problem is and whether those are the best way to fix them. Ugghhh.

This one is on the level of privatizing hospitals, schools, and prisons. Worse ahead.

I like Richardson's comment about third world electrical system.
