Both the Itanium and Itanium II are 64 bit processors:

yes opteron is a 64 bit. Itanium from intel is also 64 bit... but, "its a donkey" (LOL)

Seriously we have a major push in the enterprise to linux. We need a platform for this architecture and if intel can't deliver it really is a whale of an opportunity. The enterprise is dead if not for this shift, but the ramifications of it are pretty huge, I know of some really large HP clusters moving to linux... how many processors will it take- lots.

I wanted to ask you about cypress semi though, do you see them as just a player with no real competitive advantage, they are not on your list of chip investments.
