i had also wanted to mention carroll quigley, author of 'tragedy and hope'... his claim to fame is dual: 1st, in tragedy and hope he mentions the 'elites' specifically and applauds their goals, providing grist for the conspiracy theorists... 2nd he was bill clinton's mentor at oxford or somesuch...

as quigley got older he began to lose faith in the 'elites' and their ability - or even intent - to make the world a 'better place'

'tragedy and hope' is a rare book which was quickly taken out of print once those particular passages became well-known amongst conspiracy theorists...
