Clapper,

Both the British Open and the PGA confirm that the game is still GOLF. BTW....do you know why they decided to use the term golf to name the game?.....because shit and phuck were taken.
(Rimshot!)

It really does remind everyone that this game is hard...Nicklaus and Palmer had long period of not winning a major. Micheel's swing looked a little awkward from the top...a little bit of a lunge at the ball. As I watched him some more, the swing was absolutely repeatable. He also seemed mentally tough and realistic not allowing himself to become intimidated. And, when interviewed after the victory, he seemed very down to earth....not one of these over polished products of the PGA these days...like some of the guys we would play with on the weekend (although his game is a boat-load better).

I think having first time winners of majors is great for the game...what I am missing is more head to head competition on Sunday. Also, this will give the top guys some incentive to get back in it if they want to win majors. I have the Golf Channel that came with the Comcast package so I have it on while I am working in the home office....70% of their stuff is pure drivle but the rest is great!

Wierd week coming up....usually it's slow in late August, but I am flat out....is the economy turning up!?
