Clappers..

I caddied exactly once....well, for a whole tournament. A buddy in High School asked me if I wanted to caddie for the Washington State open, I knew nothing about golf, but if I could make some money, I was in. So, we meet super early in the morning where all of the caddies hang out, and right off the bat this golfer comes over and says I was going to be his caddie. We get out to the first tee, I have no idea where I am supposed to stand, or what to do next. I get some instruction and we are off. At the first green, this guy appears and starts harassing me, telling me to beat it. I look at my golfer, he tells the guy to get lost, that it was his fault, he overslept.....this was his regular tournament caddie, the golfer was Rick Acton who went on to have a long PGA career.

Anyway, in the final round, he had a one stroke lead. He tees off, the ball leaves the fairway, but it shouldn't be a big deal to find, but it turns out to be a difficult situation. He's looking at me at I point to where I saw it go, but we can't find the ball...we look and look, the tournament officials say that time is about up, he's going to have to have to drop a ball. Right then I see this mole hole and I say to the tournament officials, "hold on, let me stick my hand down here..." Yep, there it was. My Golfer say, "that's another $100," the gallery erupts in applause and he goes on to win.

My one and only caddie experience.
