We seem to agree here. I might also add that monopoly and other structures that prevent a free market from working need regulation. When markets are not truly competitive efficiency evaporates. That is why GM went from an icon to dinosaur. By the time they woke up they were playing catch up and the American public went through a 15 year period where they got cars with built in obsolescence. Sorta like pc's today. In telecom and data consumers have 2 choices the phone co or cable. That isn't competition no matter what mike powell says. Local lines should be updated and regulated.
