That's true, I had a friend whose son was in college, and got all the free credit cards, and he went out and charged $10,000, which, of course he couldn't pay, so it was up to the parents.

Of course the kid didn't have enough sense to blow his nose, never did, so his parents were use to his shenanigans, but that didn't help.

Credit card, sheesh. I applied for a GM credit card about 12 years ago. Got turned down. I paid cash for my home, cars and boat and only used a card for mail order so I didn't have enough of a record. The 15 year loan with the Havana Bank I paid off in 5 years didn't count and neither did my $15,000 credit line with Farm Services.

My wife was going to college and I was her sole support and she gets a pre approved GM card. Not only did that get cut up but I started buying Jeeps instead of GM products. It's cost GM 3 SUV sales.
