DMA, the best part of being called a "lefty" by you, is knowing that you see things so simply and read things so wrongly.

Bush need a boogie man.

Equating small time dictator of impoverished counties with Hitler's highly mechanized war machine is ridiculous. Where are the thousands of airplanes, tanks, troop carriers - world class weapons?

The Bush administration is using evil empire fear tactics to increase spending on many worthless defense projects that are bankrupting America, the world's largest debtor nation. What does building more billion dollar attach submarines have to do with rooting out terrorism? Or "star wars" defense programs that even the proponents can't say will work - and won't work at all against a suitcase or small nuclear bomb or 'dirty bomb' that is smuggled in through still porous borders. Some things Bush is doing makes good sense - but playing red neck Texas cowboy isn't in the best interests of our country. Support the troops - don't string them out around the world as living targets in self-righteous nations building foolishly disguised as self defense and a war on terrorism.
