Dead, and so will everyone reading this if a Cal Berkley study from the '60s is correct. They postulated that at the then current rate of population, pollution and all manner of other plagues kept increasing that the Earth will not be able to sustain life past 2014.

Bob Hope knew this and so decided that 100 was enough !
I'm half his age and trying to decide ;-)

Dave, I believe you have postulated a repetition of the 1966-1982 scenario. Very plausible, it seems to me, although I wonder whether inflation like that time period is a feasible premise, given the existing stock of dollars worldwide. Deflation or banana republic style inflation seem to me to be the choices.
