Dude, you need to get your old lady to watch the Suze Orman show.
She explains how you need to make your kids stand on their own
or they will never amount to anything. Helping them out all the time
isn't really helping them out if you know what I mean. It just makes
them depend on you more and more.

Imho one of the first lessons a person needs to learn is to live within
their means.

The one thing I am happy to say sunk into #1s' head is that it is o.k.
to use her credit card, but only if she can pay it off in full at the end
of the month.

#2 doesn't have a credit card yet. Maybe she never will. She is as tight
as you can get when it comes to spending her money. Making her fork
over $1400 of this semesters bill of $7900 wasn't any fun for her, but it
is a good way to teach that money doesn't grow on trees. I'm sure she
will be focused on college with her money involved.
