The GoldMoney account balance is in goldgrams not USD. The equivalent in USD is provided since the USD is the world most used currency.

The current exchange rate in any (not only the USD) of the most popular currency is provide on the payment screen and a calculator allows you to calculate the amount of gram needed to make a payment of a specific amount in the selected currency.

BTW, the Chinese Reminbi is money and I am sure you need a claculator if you want to pay them the equivalent of 100 Reminbi in USD in the same way you need a calculator to pay 100 USD to someone in goldgrams.

<but if money is described as a medium of exchange that is universally accepted in commerce,>

Not sure if this is valid description. Many national currencies are not accepted universally in commerce.

I would agree with the following statement. GoldMoney is not yet as universaly accepted as the USD is.
