If I recall there were days when the trade deficit was in the 12 to 15 billion range and is was a major drag on the markets. Even inflation adjusted we are way way of that number.

Now at around 40 billion per month no one cares any more...... today the markets treat it as just a number nothing more ....... which brings me back to the conclusion that confetti or paper money are about the same
