Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Investor Sees Opportunities Following Blackout

DETROIT--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 18, 2003--The Hydrogen & Fuel Cell Investor, a fuel cell industry portal and independent weekly newsletter, anticipates significantly increased interest in fuel cell and related stocks following last week's massive power outage in the northeastern U.S. and Ontario.

"The various fuel cell companies differ greatly with respect to their ability to help prevent future blackouts," said David Redstone, H2FC's editor and publisher. "Discriminating investors need resources to help them cut through the misinformation and exaggeration about fuel cells so often provided by the large media outlets, and to help them correctly identify those companies which have appropriate technologies for distributed generation and grid support and are therefore most likely to benefit from new efforts to modernize the grid."

H2FC.com's weekly newsletter is currently in its fourth year of publication and is widely read by brokers, analysts, fuel cell company personnel and individual investors. "Feedback from subscribers indicates that the H2FC Newsletter quickly becomes their most important source of information in evaluating the various companies and technologies involved in this complex and rapidly developing industry, and for following their fuel cell investments once they make them," Redstone said.

Many major companies such as DuPont, GM, United Technologies, Siemens, ChevronTexaco and GE are involved in the development of fuel cell systems, components or materials. Companies covered weekly by H2FC include Ballard Power (Nasdaq:BLDP); FuelCell Energy (Nasdaq:FCEL); Plug Power (Nasdaq:PLUG); Hydrogenics (Nasdaq:HYGS); Proton Energy (Nasdaq:PRTN); Stuart Energy; Millennium Cell; Medis Technologies; Mechanical Technology; and Global Thermoelectric. Many other fuel cell and related companies are covered as developments warrant.
