Jake, you are talking about the freeways. I did some driving around Sioux Falls on the rural roads. Those are the dangerous roads - The ones with stop signs at intersections.

When I drive on dry roads and vision is OK, Hundreds of times I've driven 70 to 85 along with hundreds of others and I did not see anyone hurt. Our interstates have many sections that are as well designed as the autobonn in germany. Hundreds of thousands, no millions drive every day and exceed the speed limit. Accidents happen to distracted or impaired drivers and speed often has little to do with it.
