The real importance in the emergence of Murdoch, and the Reverend Moon, and ClearChannel is that these media outlets never made money. They subsidise their right wing propoganda with other ventures, some tax free. No mainstream media can go on and on without generating advertising or other revenue except perhaps National Public Radio. The Murdoch news empire alone spends about a billion dollars a year more than it receives in the U.S. markets.
