I live in my house. How this makes it "a cash cow" is something you might know, but I sure don't. Perhaps you are confused by the idea of imputed rent, which is a common enough economic fallacy:

And no, I don't lose sleep over a gaggle of yuppie crybabies and their pet Nebraskan billionaire. Somehow I don't think you will get much sympathy from average Californians when you tell them you want them to pay substantially higher taxes because their property has inflated in value.
