vt - there is a paper somewhere on 321gold.com I posted many times on that case where the commercials were wrong. Can't put my hands on it. <g> Anyway, pure statistics: if, most of the time they are correct, some times they are left with the empty bag. <g> Nice work with your port, I'm still fighting to get my high of June 2002 back. Not complainin' TNK.TO not even a gold stock? Uhh? Tenke mining? Alto Rico, Batidero.

Again on the Commercials in '93 sharelynx.net Again, see the longer term chart, below....The commercials were actually long when the move in gold in '93 began and gradually increased their short position into the rally, yes. When they hit 100K + net short the rally ended.... They reduced their positions to almost even during the hard break and then went on to reestablish their net short position up to 100K, which again capped the market prior to its long fall beginning in '96. The Commercials when over 100K net short have gotten their way..pure and simple...the market has turned down....and significantly. There is no other way about it....It is not the direction but the action at the extreme I consider most important.... Again, I put the Commercials at 110K net short as of Friday....Maybe they have to get alot more short to stop (reverse) the market, but then this time will be different...Guess like everybody else, I'm assuming some how it is... Time will tell.....
