I write letters CONSTANTLY. But no one seems to care much. That won't stop me from continuing though.

"then join the fight against explicit sex and violence in movies aimed at people under 18."

Now there's a cause that should unite everyone. Wonder why it doesn't. Too much residual distrust, I suppose.

Some don't want to look like busibodies telling other people what to watch. Others view not just legal prohibition but even strong attempts to persuade people not to show or watch things as a free speech issue. Some look at the "religious right" campaigning against sex and violence (or at least sex) in the movies and since they hate the religious right they avoid joining in on this issue. Also there can be a problem determining what really is aimed at "people under 18". 21 year olds watch a lot of the same movies and TV shows that 16 year olds watch.

Have you seen Matrix II - Reloaded?

I took my 14 year old twin boys.

On the way home, I asked them(if you havent seen it this wont make sense) "did you see how fast that lady got diarrhea from the cake?"

P replied, "Dad, she had an orgasm."

They both admonished me for thinking they didn't know what the scene was really about.

Don't know who you think is going to distrust whom, but I agree with you. Depends entirely on who you put in charge of the censorship project. Would you get the same sort of censorship Dianne Ravich wrote about?
