You have it completely backwards when you refer to "flypaper" -- we are the fly. Your eagerness to send young American men and women to die in this "trap" is disheartening. As for al Qaida, it is more like a grass fire. You do not put it out by dropping a match in dry grass and then blowing on it. That is what we did in Iraq, and al Qaida grows stronger with every passing day.

I sure hope that the guys in the White House planned for the "flypaper" scenario because it's working. Though given a choice between the 3rd Infantry fighting Al Qaeda in Baghdad and the FBI fighting Al Qaeda in New York, I'd prefer the former.

Oh, I didn't realize those were the choices we made when the "Guys" invaded and occupied Iraq.

Wasn't it something about imminent danger, mushroom cloud, reconstituted NUkUler weapons, Weapons of Mass destruction?

I missed the subtle policy shift. Last update I got was to "free Iraq people from a brutal dictator, instill democracy in Iraq, Humanitarian reasons."

It is so convenient to do something and then make up the reasons as you go along. Unfortunately for our military it violates the construct of
1. Objective
2. Strategy
3. Tactics.

Based on these moving goal posts how is success defined?
What is the exit strategy.
Will we ever "WIN" or will we just keep changing the reasons why we are preemptive invaders?
