It certainly reveals a lot about contemporary American society. How gullible the American people really are for government/media propaganda. More than 50% of the American people think Iraq and Saddam were behind 9/11, although there is no credible evidence linking them to the terrorist attacks. Also, no mainstream media source in the U.S. is asking tough questions about what really happend on 9/11, like why planes weren't scrambled properly and why top government officials under-reacted to such an unprecendented event. The worldview that the American media portrays to the American people in 2003 is so far from what's going on in the REAL WORLD that it's sickening. They portray the U.S. as a benevolent force in the world, when in reality the U.S. is just another imperialistic empire (like the Romans or British) that will stop at nothing (torture, murder, mass killings) to get it's way in the world and to control the world's wealth and resources. The mainstream media is a tool of the corporate elite. They further their views and forsake reality. Like what's really going on in Iraq, all the suffering and killing. The American people are totally brainwashed by the mainstream media and they're too stupid to figure that out. They actually believe propagandist like Rush Limbaugh and actually think the mainstream media is "liberal". I'd expect a "liberal" media to show us all the death and destruction in Iraq and to ask hard questions about what really happened on 9/11. Like, why isn't the media questioning the fact that we have troops all over the world, but couldn't even properly defend our own country on 9/11? That is literally the scandal of the century. After spending $10 Trillion on the Military since WW2, we can't even scamble a couple of planes to defend our own capitol?!? Someting is really wrong with this picture, but you wouldn't know it from the mainstream media. They focus on the antics of Micheal Jackson, JayLo, Arnold Schwartzenager, while real scandals are ignored. Such is Life!
