Ted,

Just read your own blurb:

Northerners followed, bringing their traditionally Republican voting habits with them. As more Republicans moved south, the Dixiecrats, who shared a number of their views, left the Democratic Party to join the Republican Party.

Klan is not what Republicans brought to the south, so it was definitely not one of the shared values. Klan is distinctly southern thing, and the party membership was Democrat, since Democrat had almost a monopoly there.

Republicans traditions / values have been for equal rights. Democrats have traditions / values have been for unequal rights. First for whites being "more equal" than others, now with blacks being "more equal".

Its interesting how you twist things to rationalize your convictions.

Anyway, I don't really want to get into another pissing contest.

Joe
