Yes, it is open season, and we have no one but ourselves to blame. We went where we should not have gone, and we went without a plan. The US electorate is responsible for this. Far from having some false choice between fighting terrorism in Iraq and fighting it in New York- we had the choice to work with the entire world to find a good way to really combat terrorism and we blew it by invading a country that wasn't even a credible terrorist threat to us, until AFTER we invaded it. What a world.
