Same kind of thing in Canada. Fingerpointing and political
infighting is the order of the day. Those who are scrambling to take charge have no background in the electrical industry. Massive amounts of data about the blackout to be studied, but the only people who understand it are engaged in the hour by hour operation of the power system. The system remains unstable with fluctuating voltage and shortage of generating capacity in Ontario. The media is goading civilians to become conservation vigilantes. A week ago no one was interested.
The public only becomes aware or concerned about electricity when they raise the rates or the lights go out.
