What it looks like, honestly, is that Iraqis don't want you guys there. Their snipers shooting at American soldiers and their bombers killing non-Iraqis is not "nice", of course, but they are a people under occupation and if they feel like fighting it, fight they will... So, no, I don't see American casualties in Iraq leading to any support ("increased support" is a funny choice of words, since there is no support to start with) for the US occupation there. Honestly, the sentiment in Europe and the Middle East right now is one of "We told Americans not to invade Iraq, but they were oh so tough and Texan and had to do it. Now they are being shot at? Oh wow, what a surprise...". It's true, I don't do much international travelling, but I do have a family connection to a respected (nonreligious) international medical assistance organization Let me point out respectfully that while I am sure you hear quite interesting anecdotes thus, it is no substitute for actually talking to people from outside the US. I hate to break it to you like this, but you will be quite surprised about what people around the world think about your country and its wonderful deeds of the past year or so the next time you care to travel outside the US.
