Well, except for a few crazies I think most Americans swing a little to the right or to the left from Generation to generation. But, basically stick pretty close to the center. Right now, if I had to guess, I would guess Native born Americans are little to the right, whereas immigrants, especially those we see in the Southern states are a little to the left. Even the Black population from what I can see is swinging slightly away from the left, especially as they work their way up the ladder of success. But the real key to the parties of the future are the Hispanics. They are presently outgrowing all other races in this country and how they feel may very well dictate the environment of the future in this country. The ones here in S. Fla. are pretty much in the right column, cant speak for the others as dont know them well enough.
Myself, I feel the National (Federal) govt should be responsible for our Security/interstate commerce after that they got to convince me why they are better then States at solving local problems. In the case of healthcare I am convinced, why, cause of the POOL concept. For instance, people in Fla. and Minnesota may on average be healthier then those in say Calif and N.Y. But since we are free to travel and move only makes sense to look at the TOTAL health of the Nation rather then a locality. jdn
