During the primary season, Nixon also said that he had a "secret plan" for ending the war in Vietnam based on seeking help of the Soviet leaders in ending the War and proceeding to "de-Americanize" the conflict, indicating a phased reduction of US troop involvement in the war. from rci.rutgers.edu It didn't work for Nixon, and it won't for Bush.
