I'm perfectly happy with a ratings system that is informative and advisory. The more information parents can get to help them parent, the better.

I object to the compulsory nature of it, removing the right of parents to make decisions about their children. There are some things we should forbid absolutely in public, such as drinking before a certain age. But we don't forbit 15 year olds from watching these movies. We only forbid it if the parent doesn't go along. (By the way, is it a parent, or any adult? I don't know. What if a parent works every afternoon and evening and leaves the children with a babysitter. Can the babysitter take them to the movie? Or can the children never go to see those movies??)
