That has got to be the most apologetic, Clintonesque 'analysis' I've seen yet. So, Bush says that 'Saddam Hussein aids and protects terrorists, including members of al Qaeda', and that didn't actually tie bin Laden to Iraq? What, did bin Laden resign his membership to Al Qaeda? What sort of semantic gymnastics are you attempting?

'Saddam Hussein aids and protects terrorists, including members of al Qaeda' pretty much says what is says. It can't be further broken down and re-spun. It says that Saddam aids Al Qaeda. Period

And if the threat was not so imminent, then why not wait the 45 days that would have put many more UN countries onto our side? A number of the members of the security council said that if Bush waited 45 days, they would join in the vote. That probably would have left France as the lone dissenter, and let the US take a much better diplomatic position.

If the threat was not so imminent, then we could have put ourselves into a better position to win the peace.
